~ Delicate Innocence ~

This is my tribute to a beautiful, brave 7 year old girl, Peyton Elizabeth Rudd. Although I never
met her or knew her personally, She touched my life in a very deep, very special way. I first
became acquainted with Payton, when her Great-Aunt, Jean sent an e-mail informing the Quilt Of Love Angels that Peyton had a tumor on her brain stem, which was revealed to be a Glioblastoma. This was revealed in June 2007, when she was taken to the Emergency Room, because of sudden vision, hearing and balance problems.

I fallowed her progress and prayed for her daily, along with countless others. Peyton underwent surgery from  which she had an amazing recovery and no neurological problems. Then she took 6 weeks of radiation treatments, along with a radiation sensitizing drug to which she responded well. She was able to go to school and start first grade. Her next 2 MRI's showed that what remained
of the tumor was shrinking. In January 2008, she began to have similar systems to when she was first diagnosed. An MRI confirmed that the tumor had come back. Surgery and Radiation were
not an option, so, she begin Chemotherapy and her battle continued. On October 9th, 2008, her battle ended. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Peyton and her family have touched countless lives around the world. Her family and friends will always remain in my prayers and thoughts. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of precious Peyton and her family. I learned what it truly means to have courage, hope and faith, from 2 people, my grandma and sweet Peyton. Peyton's smile and positive attitude taught me to live life to the fullest and find joy in each moment, no matter what life brings my way. Peyton, thank you sweetie, for sharing your beautiful smile, your amazing courage and life with us!

Thank you Lord, for Peyton Elizabeth!

PEYTON’S COURAGE

She was a brave little girl,

With pretty blue eyes.

She had a beautiful smile,

That would melt the heart.

She fought long and hard,

Against a deadly disease.

She never lost hope,

Her faith remained strong.

She is God’s sweet angel,

Heaven is now her home.

Her courage and strength,

Will be an everlasting testimony.

She will be forever loved,

And always remembered.

Her life touched the hearts of strangers,

Her courage changed the world.
