Grandma in the 80's

GRANDMOTHER
I
know you were sent from heaven.
To love your children and grandchildren.
To help them on life's journey.
One of your greatest gifts is your love.
There is no one like you.
You are the rose God put in our garden.
You are the sunshine that brightens our
days.
God's light shines all around you.
I
love you Grandma.

When I look at my grandma, I see a woman
after God's own heart. She has devoted her
life to serving Christ and lending a helping
hand. She thinks of others, before thinks of
herself. Her love and compassion is beyond
words. Too me, she is an angel sent from
heaven. When mom went to Australia, I had a
choice of weather I wanted to go or not. I
chose to stay, because I was about to start
the second semester of my senior year and I
wanted to graduate. So, grandma moved in and
took care of me while she was overseas.
In April of 2006, grandma was diagnosed
with stage 3 Breast Cancer. She had a
mastectomy of her right breast as well as
the lymph nodes on May 5th, 2006. Of her
lymph nodes, 25 out of 26 were cancerous.
They did body scans and didn't find cancer
anywhere else in her body.
At the end of May 2006, She started her
Chemo treatments. She had a total of 8
treatments, which were once every 3 weeks
and they were completed In October. Her
Radiation Treatments started just before
Thanksgiving. She had 25 total and her last
treatment was in January of 2007.
In May of 2007, she had her left
breast removed to reduce the chance of the
Cancer coming back. She did amazingly well
through all of her treatments. God was and
continues to be by her side. She is Cancer
free and I know in my heart that God has
healed her. To God be all the glory and
praise!
